The Excelsior Running Club has members around the Bay Area and beyond. We have runners of all ages and ability levels. It’s a good mix of competition, camaraderie and fun. Our women’s team is growing and we strive to make the sport a better one for the ladies!!
We are part of the USATF PA Division (Pacific Association of USA Track & Field) which covers northern California and Nevada. We compete in road (1 mile to marathon), cross country (3-6 mile trail races in the fall), and ultras (50k to 100 mile and duration races). We have womens and mens teams in open and masters divisions. Note that members run many races outside the PA and hence there is a wealth of knowledge about local, national, and even international races. In addition, we do several meet up training runs in various bay area locations. Our main workout group in SF usually trains on Wednesday at Kezar around 6:00pm. We also meet for weekend long runs.
Benefits: We currently provide 20% off Road Runner Sports, group workouts and runs, discounted clothing from our apparel partner Rabbit, discount with our rehab partner Sports Medicine Institute.

Road Racing Grand Prix Schedule
And since some people ask about how team racing works: For road and XC, team scoring is based on the combined time (road) or the sum of placings for the top 5 finishers in a club (XC). Ultra races take the top 3 times for men, mixed, or women’s teams. Since there are a ton of races on the schedule, we don’t expect any single member to run all races on the schedule but we actively rally to get enough members to field a team for many of them. The USATF series also has competition for individuals by age group. That’s the gist of it.
